Silence and the Listener for Télérama
Gordon Hempton lives in a yurt on the remote Olympic Peninsula, hours west of Seattle, Washington. A soundtracker, Hempton believes he has found the quietest (devoid of human noise) place in North America, deep into the Hoh Rainforest. Calling it One Square Inch of Silence, Hempton is a noise pollution activist and ponders the impact of constant noise for humans, animals and the environment.
